PRODUCTIVITY- We are a small law firm, but we have always been on the leading edge of technology. Our Cbeyond services have been very helpful, especially in the area of our elder law where we offer 24 hour service to elders. Quite often, an elder in crisis will be in a nursing home or in a hospital situation where they have to be moved to a nursing home and the adult child will call us 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The attorney on call carries our Cbeyond mobile phone and our system is set up so that that attorney can get the call day or night and the elder can be helped when they need it. My favorite feature is the Cbeyond Online email configuration. We have a number of email accounts here, so when someone is out of the office and they need to have their email forwarded I can very easily do that. It takes me about 30 seconds, whereas with my prior provider it was phone tags, calling the service provider, and waiting 24 hours for that to actually happen meant that I had to go to that persons computer and personally forward their emails. I can forward them all to one mailbox so now I don’t have to check two or three different email accounts during the day, it’s all forwarded. If I should go on vacation, I can split up the email boxes that I’m responsible for and send them to the appropriate people so no one person is ever overloaded with my large number of email.

PROFITABILITY- We nearly lost a customer because we were having trouble, so much trouble, with our electronic signings. So we’ve gotten the network card for closings, for each signing closings. We don’t want to go into somebody’s home and have them have to pull out their PC and then our network’s not compatible with their wireless, so we were having a lot of issues. I think that not only did it save that client, that closing client that requires electronic signing, that we can now boast to our other clients that we are completely ready and able to do electronic signings anywhere.

PROTECTION- Keeping information confidential is the first and foremost responsibility of en attorney and we don’t take that lightly. Privacy and confidentiality is our main concern when allowing anyone access to anything, from our building to our internet to our website and our networks. I have control over who accesses what. Only the folks that I grant access to can get in there and I can very easily configure their access so that they see only what they need to see and they have access only to what they need access to. With Cbeyond, I have a level of comfort that I didn’t otherwise have. A number of our applications and software are cloud based, so internet access is crucial. The internet being down for any length of time costs us both dollars and productivity. With Cbeyond’s dedicated broadband I have not had one single internet outage since we switched, and I have confidence that my information is secure and protected because it is a dedicated line and not a shared line.
