Why become interoperable with Cbeyond?

When you work with Cbeyond to become interoperable with its BeyondVoice with SIPconnect service, you are working with the experts that led the SIPconnect industry initiative. The editors of the SIP Forum’s SIPconnect specification are the same Cbeyond engineers overseeing the interoperability testing.

What is the interoperability process?

Cbeyond has put the following interoperability process in place:

  1. Cbeyond provides PBX manufacturers, with a SIPconnect Public Test Access Point (PTAP) account and a basic suite of test cases that you may want to augment. Anywhere the Internet can be accessed, the testing can be performed. One of our SIPconnect architects will be available to support you in your efforts including helping debug any issues that may arise in your testing.
  2. A configuration guide should be created that shows the installers how to get the PBX to register with the BeyondVoice with SIPconnect service. Once you write the first draft, Cbeyond will review and provide verbiage on where to find the Cbeyond-specific information and help translate where the two companies use different terms for a particular value (i.e. SIP Proxy versus SIPconnect Domain).
  3. Once the PTAP testing and configuration guide are complete, technical trial location(s) should be identified. Our expectations are that you and Cbeyond will provide engineering level support for this/these technical trials. The technical trial(s) should be companies that are using the solution to run their business. Once the combined solution is working well in production for three to four weeks, we will be ready to declare interoperability and turn our attention to co-marketing initiatives.

As you can see, the process is stringent enough that any issues can be exposed and resolved; however, it is also set up in a way that it can be completed very efficiently.
