How does Mobile Workforce Manager work?
Your company's field employees use a simple interface on their smartphones to enter shift and job events. Information about the jobs such as date, time, location and other data are collected and sent back to your office using the Cbeyond network. Back at your office the job and location information can be viewed virtually in real-time, using a PC with an Internet connection. Maps, reports and alerts provide detailed snapshots and historical views of the field based employees' activities.

What service does my business need to subscribe to in order to add Mobile Workforce Manager?
You must be a BeyondMobile subscriber to add Mobile Workforce Manager to your account.
Once I order Mobile Workforce Manager, when will my smartphone arrive?
Your smartphone will arrive within 2-5 business days of your BeyondVoice service installation.
If you already are a BeyondVoice subscriber, your BeyondMobile phone will arrive 2-5 business days from when you authorize the purchase.
Phone Availability
Can I add any mobile phone I want to Mobile Workforce Manager?
No, you must have a Cbeyond smartphone. Due to the fact that the phones we sell need to be certified on our network and need to operate at a certain radio frequency, you can only add a phone to your service that you purchase through Cbeyond. Cbeyond is working hard to add many new models to our product catalog so if you don't see the model that you would like to buy, keep checking back with us via our website.
Activating and Using Service
How do I move/transfer my existing number to my new BeyondMobile device?
If you have an existing mobile phone number that you would like to move to your new Cbeyond BeyondMobile phone, please review the instructions below and have your documentation ready before accessing Cbeyond's self-service mobile transfer Website.
To complete the process, you need to have the following ready:
- Your charged Cbeyond mobile phone.
- The name of your previous service provider.
- The current active phone number that you wish to transfer.
- The account number of your previous service as it appears on your bill.
- The name and address exactly as they each appear on your bill.
- The last four digits of the social security number or complete tax identification number of the previous service provider account.
When you have collected all of the above information and have your new BeyondMobile phone on and fully charged, please go to the Cbeyond Mobile transfer website at
http://cbeyond.net/mobilesupportcenter or call 1-866-424-5100.
When transferring your existing mobile number to Cbeyond, you should maintain access to both your old phone and your new Cbeyond phone until the transfer is complete. You may not be able to immediately receive calls on your new phone until the transfer process is complete (this includes return calls from 911 personnel).
You should call your previous provider once you have successfully made and received phone calls from your Cbeyond phone for at least 24 hours. Confirm they have terminated your account and request a final bill. This step may save you from potential billing disputes with your previous provider.
How do I set up my service?
Once an account is purchased, a customer support representative from XORA, our Mobile Workforce Manager Application provider, will help you set up a training session.
The interactive training session will show you how to:
- Set up users' smartphones.
- Manage the online account and explain the most frequently used features.
- Access user guides and support tools.
The training typically lasts 1 hour. During the training, the user needs to have at least one activated smartphone available for programming and a PC with an Internet connection (Internet Explorer 6.0 or greater recommended).
- Turn on the phone.
- Select XORA TIMETRACK and press SELECT.
- Select Shift Start and press SELECT.
- On the next screen, press the SCROLL WHEEL and SUBMIT.
- Select JOB START, press SCROLL WHEEL and press SELECT
- Enter your JOB NUMBER.
- Scroll down and enter COMMENT if desired.
- Press the SCROLL WHEEL and SUBMIT.
How do I start and end my lunch?
Lunch Start- Select LUNCH START, press SCROLL WHEEL and press SELECT.
- On the next screen, press the SCROLL WHEEL and SUBMIT.
Lunch End- Select LUNCH END and press OK.
- On the next screen, press the SCROLL WHEEL and SUBMIT.
- Select SHIFT END, press SCROLL WHEEL and press SELECT
- On the next screen, press SCROLL WHEEL and SUBMIT
- Wait 5 minutes and press EXIT, and on the next screen, press YES.
- If you do not have an EXIT option, press the BACK BUTTON to EXIT.
- Select JOB END and press SCROLL WHEEL and press SELECT
- Only one JOB NUMBER should be visible and already selected (with the radio button).
- Scroll down and enter COMMENT if desired.
- Press the SCROLL WHEEL and SUBMIT.
Am I able to receive data while using my smartphone?
If the smartphone is on a voice call, it will be unable to send data during that time.
Once the call is terminated, the data will be sent.
How do I access field employees' data?
As your company's primary administrator, you can access Mobile Workforce Manager while you are logged into CbeyondOnline. Others can access with the account ID, login, and password that you provide to them. Please keep your password secure to ensure that non-authorized personnel cannot access this information.
Who can see my employees' activity?
Cbeyond does not have access to view any Mobile Workforce Manager location or timesheet data; Only your company's primary Administrator and those with authorized login credentials can access that information.

Where is coverage available?
How can I tell if I'm in coverage?
In the top left corner of the home screen there is an icon of a telephone pole which should have bars appearing next to it. The BEST COVERAGE is indicated by MORE BARS. The more bars that you have, the better the coverage you are in. Worker activity outside of Cbeyond coverage is stored on the handset and then sent back to the Website when the handset returns to a coverage area (using store-and-forward technology).
What factors affect coverage?
Your smartphone uses radio frequencies so coverage is affected by anything that could interfere with radio waves. Typically, you get better coverage outside of a building than inside.
Is there anything I can do to ensure I get the best coverage available?
Smartphones have internal antennas so it is imperative that you use them when you are in spotty coverage in a manner that maximizes the antenna's surface area. The best manner to do this is to have the phone at a vertical angle and to use a hands-free earbud so that your hand is not blocking the antenna.
Battery Life
How long will a fully charged smartphone battery last?
The battery life of your smartphone may vary. Please check the FAQs that came with the smartphone for specifics.
Is there anything I can do to extend battery life?
To extend your battery's life, you should turn your phone off if you will be in an area of no coverage for a prolonged period of time. With Mobile Workforce Manager, Cbeyond recommends purchasing a car charger.
If purchasing accessories from a retail electronics store, seek accessories for your smartphone model.
If my battery dies, will I lose my data?
NO. Your data are stored in memory on the smartphone so if your battery dies, or you change batteries, your data will persist.
