What services does my business need to subscribe to in order to add BeyondMobile services?
You must be a BeyondVoice subscriber to add BeyondMobile service to your account.
Once I order BeyondVoice, when will my mobile handhelds arrive?
For a customer who is already a BeyondVoice customer, the standard delivery timeframe is 3-5 business days from order receipt. For customers who purchase BeyondMobile and BeyondVoice at the same time, the standard delivery is 3-5 business days after the BeyondVoice initial installation. Expedited delivery options include: Priority Overnight (by 10:30am) or Standard Overnight (by 3pm) and extra shipping charges will apply.
What additional services are available with my BeyondMobile service?
You can purchase BeyondMobile Plus. With the optional upgrade to BeyondMobile Plus service for an extra $10 per month you also get:
- Unlimited Internet browsing
- Unlimited Instant Messaging
- Additionally, you can purchase unlimited text messaging for an additional $10 per month.

What are the important features of the Samsung flip-phone?
The new Samsung M240 flip-phone comes with the following features and services:

What is the warranty?
The Samsung flip-phone comes with a one year limited warranty from the manufacturer.
Is there a money-back guaranty? If so, what are the terms?
If the handheld and all of the in-box accessories are returned in their original condition within 30 days of purchase, Cbeyond will refund the cost of the handheld1
What other fees apply?
Local, state and federal regulatory voice fees may apply, including federal and local taxes. E911, 411, Text Messaging (SMS) and other usage fees may also apply. See your service agreement for details.
If I decide to return the Samsung flip-phone within 30 days, what do I have to do?
If for any reason, within the first 30 days of service, you decide you do not want to keep your wireless handheld you may cancel your service and receive a refund1. To receive a refund, you must contact Customer Care by phone (email notifications are not allowed) and cancel your service. Customer Care will provide you with an RMA number and instructions on how and where to return your equipment. Equipment received without an RMA number will not be accepted. Cbeyond will cancel your service and credit your account accordingly.
130-day return policy does not cover activation charges, shipping, taxes or handling fees. If the device is found not to be in its original condition, refurbishment charges may also apply. Voice minutes will be billed on a pro-rata basis. Customer is responsible for shipping the device back at customer's expense.
Phone Availability
Can I add any mobile phone I want to BeyondMobile?
No. Due to the fact that the phones we sell need to be certified on our network and need to operate at a certain radio frequency, you can only add a phone to your service that you purchase through Cbeyond. Cbeyond is working hard to add many new models to our product catalog so if you don't see the model that you would like to buy, keep checking back with us via our website.
Activating Service
Once my phone arrives, is there any set-up required?
Unless you are transferring your existing number, your phone comes in working condition, activated for voice services. The manufacturer does encourage you to give your phone's battery a full charge before using it.
If you are transfering in an existing phone number, this will take an additional step. If you are upgrading to BeyondMobile Plus services, there are some additional set-up requirements in order to take advantage of the Samsung flip-phone's data services.
How do I move/transfer my existing phone number to my new Samsung flip-phone?
This step is optional and is only relevant if you have an existing phone number that you would like to move to your new Samsung flip-phone. If you want to transfer your existing phone number, please review the instructions below and have your documentation ready before calling Cbeyond's Customer Care at 1-866-424-5100, Monday through Friday.
You will need a copy of your current service provider's bill and/or make sure you know the exact information listed below:
- The name of your current service provider
- The current, active phone number that you wish to transfer
- The account number of your current service as it appears on your bill
- Your name and address exactly as they each appear on your bill
- A number where you can be reached during the transfer
- The account password for your current service
- Your Social Security number, tax identification number, or other information that your current service provider can use to identify you.
Note: Incorrect or incomplete information can delay the transfer process.If you are transferring your existing mobile number over to Cbeyond, you should maintain access to both your old phone and your new Cbeyond phone until the transfer is complete.
You may not be able to immediately receive calls on your new phone until the transfer process is complete (this includes return calls from 911 personnel).
(Optional, but strongly recommended) You should consider calling your previous wireless provider once you have confirmation from Cbeyond that your transfer is complete and you have successfully made and received phone calls from your new phone. Make sure they have terminated your account and request a final bill. This step may save you from potential billing disputes with your previous provider.
Network Coverage
What network does the Cbeyond BeyondMobile for Samsung flip-phone use? Where is coverage available?
The BeyondMobile Voice and Data network uses a national CDMA 2000® 1x. See the
coverage map below to see your service areas.
How can I tell if I am in coverage?
In the top left corner of the home screen there is an icon of a telephone pole which should have bars appearing next to it. The best coverage is indicated by 6 bars. The more bars that you have, the better the coverage you are in.
What factors affect coverage?
Your Samsung flip-phone uses radio frequencies so coverage is affected by anything that could interfere with radio waves. Typically, you get better coverage outside of a building than inside.
Is there anything I can do to ensure I get the best coverage available?
The Samsung flip-phone has an internal antenna so it is imperative that you use it when you are in spotty coverage in a manner that maximizes the antenna's surface area. The best manner to do this is to have the flip-phone at a vertical angle and to use a hands-free earbud so that your hand is not blocking the antenna.
International
Where does the Samsung flip-phone work internationally? Can I add international roaming to my BeyondMobile service?
There is no international roaming with your BeyondMobile Service.
Can I add international dialing to my BeyondMobile service, if so, how?
Yes, you can add international dialing to your BeyondMobile service. However, you will incur additional, per call, charges. To activate international dialing, please call customer service at 1-866-424-5100, Monday through Friday.
Using Voice Services for Samsung Flip-Phone
How do I access my voice mail from another phone?
Dial your mobile number. When your Voicemail answers, PRESS "*"
- Then follow the voice prompts
To Set Up Your Voicemail
- Open the phone, press and hold "1" key
- Follow the voice prompts and create your 4-10 digit pass code, voice signature and personal greeting.
Listening to Your Voicemail Messages
Your Samsung flip-phone indicates that you have received voicemail with an audible tone. When you open the phone, you will see an on-screen indicator that will display the time of the missed call and the fact that there is a voicemail to listen to. If your phone was turned off when the call was received, you will see an icon of an letter/envelope on the top middle of the screen to indicate that you have unheard voicemail waiting.
Reviewing Messages- Open the phone,
- Press and hold "1" key or click the left soft key
- select Messaging
- Scroll down using the navigation key to Voicemail and select OK
- Enter your Passcode and press #
Follow the voice prompt instructions at the end of the message to manage your voicemail, you can save, forward, reply, delete, replay and more, based on numerical commands the voice prompt will explain to you.
Using Call Waiting
When you are on a call and a new call comes in, you will hear an audible beep and the screen will display
"Call Waiting" and if available, the incoming
CALLER ID.
You then have two options:- Press Talk. This will allow you to answer the incoming call and hold the current call.
- Ignore (this sends the call straight into your voicemail) - to do this, press the soft key under the word "Ignore" on the phone's screen.
If you decide to answer the new incoming call, you can get back to your original call by pressing Talk again. You can toggle back and forth from your new call to your original call by pressing Talk, as long as both parties stay on the line.
Using 3-Way Calling
To initiate a 3-way call,- Dial the first party by either using a pre-set from contacts or dialing the number.
- Then dial the second party's phone number or select from contacts.
- On the phone screen, use the navigation key to select 3-Way Call.
- Once the second call is answered, use the navigation button and select Flash. You will be connected to both parties.
Note: Once the three way call is established, either party can drop the call and you will remain connected with the remaining party. Using Text Messaging with Samsung Flip-Phone
Using Simple Text Messaging (SMS)
- Press the TEXT key
- When recipients are entered, use the TOP LEFT SOFT KEY to click NEXT
- TYPE YOUR MESSAGE, then use the TOP LEFT SOFT KEY to click SEND
- >To type a period (.), select numeral "1" key once.
- >To type a (@) symbol for an email address, select the numeral "1" key three times.
- Use the TOP LEFT SOFT KEY to click SEND.
NOTE: With SMS text messaging, you are limited to 160 characters, total, including spaces and punctuation if sending to a mobile phone.
You are limited to 133 characters, total, including spaces and punctuation if sending to an email address. Typically, only wireless phones are capable of receiving SMS messages so you will want to verify the device type of the recipient before sending.Using BeyondMobile Plus services with Samsung Flip-Phone
Internet Browser
What set-up is required to use the rich Internet browser?
To use the Internet browser on the phone, you must first be upgraded and provisioned as a BeyondMobile Plus customer. Once configured, you
- Select the top left soft key. Using the Navigation button scroll over to the icon of the world that reads Web and select OK.
- Navigate to the desired Website using the Navigation button to select links or click the right top soft key and select Go To from the menu options provided, then type the URL for your destination.
How do you set up a bookmark on your Samsung flip-phone's Internet Browser?
- Click the right top soft key and select Bookmark from the menu options provided.
- Then select OK. You will see a message confirming that the website has been bookmarked.
- Use the top right soft key to select OK.
How do you access a bookmarked Website from your Samsung flip-phone's Internet Browser?
- Click the right top soft key
- Select View Bookmarks from the menu options provided.
- Using the Navigation button, scroll and select the bookmark you want. Then select OK.
Battery Life
How long will a fully charged battery last? Is there anything I can do to extend battery life?
The manufacturer states that a fully-charged Samsung flip-phone battery last up to 7 days on stand-by and deliver 4 hours of talk time before needing to be recharged. To extend your battery's life, you should turn your phone off if you will be in an area of no coverage for a prolonged period of time.
If my battery dies, will I lose my data?
No. Your data are stored in memory on the Samsung flip-phone so if your battery dies or you change batteries, your data will persist.
Security
What, if any, security features do I get with my Samsung flip-phone?
You get a variety of security features with your Samsung flip-phone. You can:
- Create a password that locks your phone and prevents anyone from placing a call (phone can still receive calls) except for E911
- Restrict your phone - it allows you to select up to 10 special numbers that you designate as the only numbers the phone can call out to. You can also restrict your phone to only be able to dial out to contacts saved in your phone's address book.
