More than half of IT decision-makers expect their budgets to increase this year, due largely to cloud computing initiatives, business intelligence programs and data management projects. According to a study by TEKsystems, a provider of IT staffing solutions and human capital management expertise, 53 percent of IT leaders and 66 percent of CIOs predict their budgets will expand in 2012. "During 2011, a number of trends like mobility, cloud computing and business intelligence garnered a lot of hype, but many organizations did not adopt and implement these initiatives right away. In 2012, organizations will be more prepared to take action," said TEKsystems director Rachel Russell. "It will be critical for businesses to select service providers capable of lending practical insight developed from successful, on the line experiences to help guide and support these initiatives." The study revealed 43 percent of companies expect to invest in cloud computing projects this year, a 12 percent increase compared to last year. Retail, manufacturing, education and government organizations are most likely to adopt cloud services this year. According to a recent Channel Insider report, more enterprises will implement a cloud strategy in 2012 as last year's adopters come forward with measurable, positive results. |
