Data is extremely important for companies that are looking to satisfy customers and expand their business. As a result, a study by Wakefield Research found that some employees would go a long way to get their lost data back. The study found that more than half of Americans have experienced a computer crash in which they lost all of their content and files. Yet 39 percent of respondents claimed to have never backed up their data or haven't done so in more than a year. Nonetheless, American businesses would sacrifice a lot in order to get their data back. The study found that 38 percent of respondents said that losing data would be worse than losing their wedding ring, while 27 percent said that they would pay any amount of money in order to get it back. Additionally, more than one-third of respondents said they would give up alcohol and 31 percent would give up coffee for a year if it would recover their lost information. This demonstrates the importance of small business data backup solutions. According to the DataLossDB, nearly one-quarter of all data loss incidents stemmed from an employee accident. Although data loss may not always happen maliciously, businesses should be sure to take precautions. |
