Job Description
Responsibilities:
o Provide technical support to sales and prospective customers on Cbeyond products and services.
o Furnishes technical expertise and addresses questions from Sales prospects and sales associates, Sales Activity Managers and Indirect Channel Partners about Cbeyond's network, services, hardware, and managed services applications.
o Deliver technical training materials and lead technical training efforts in the market
o Support key initiative to drive adoption of SIPconnect interface services. Includes sales support, vendor training, customer site surveys, and service delivery support
o Provides resolution to issues regarding orders throughout the lifecycle of the customer.
o Work closely with Service Coordination Team and Field Service Engineers to ensure smooth installation and activation.
o Ensure customer expectations are set accordingly at the prospecting stage and throughout the order lifecycle.
o Works with customers to answer technical questions surrounding customer requirements to install Cbeyond services. This includes questions about voice interface requirements to IP addressing, NAT and Port Forwarding questions for full range data applications.
o Maintains activity log and provides weekly updates
o In accordance with procedures, performs administrative tasks such as writing professional presentations and documentation to customers as required.
o Frequent local travel to prospective customer sites in support of sales efforts.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
o Minimum of 5 years experience in voice / data services; to include but not limited to switched, dedicated, local, long distance and / or RBOC and Internet related services.
o Minimum 2 years experience in a Sales Engineering role, SMB focus preferred over Enterprise scale customers.
o Strong understanding of voice services, phone systems, (KEY and PBX), voice termination interfaces (analog, digital, PRI), and varying types of customer provided equipment (CPE) is highly desired.
o Strong understanding of data services to include experience with PC's, application software, LAN and HUB configurations, routers, servers, and expertise in network protocols (TCP/IP) is highly desired.
o Good foundational and current industry knowledge of VoIP services, specifically SIP and SIP trunking, QoS, and telephony issues surrounding VoIP
o Good foundational or current industry knowledge of Mobile Solutions, Hosted Microsoft Exchange, and Web Hosting preferred.
o Strong problem-solving skills, resourceful and effective in making decisions.
o Strong technical, organizational and customer support skills.
o Strong oral communications and interpersonal skills.
o Proven ability to work effectively with customers, contractors and vendors.
o Ability to manage multiple projects to completion.
o Ability to meet deadlines and deal efficiently with a fast paced environment.
