Business Challenges
- Replace an inflexible, expensive private branch exchange (PBX) system
- Keep up with a rapidly-changing team
- Compete in a global economy
Results with Cbeyond
- Consolidated billing and service support
- A converged voice and data network, allocating bandwidth where it's most needed
- Delivered productivity-enhancing features at costs that fits a small business budget
When FremantleMedia North America moved its headquarters to Burbank, California in 2006, the company replaced its aging private branch exchange (PBX) with a modern voice system. The Cbeyond service included local- and long-distance voice, mobile, and high-speed Internet services, all combined on a single bill.
- Streamlined management. An easy-to-manage, easy-to-upgrade system gives FremantleMedia's sole IT manager more time for other responsibilities.
- A cost-effective solution. Lower toll costs and an efficient consolidation of voice and data systems bring significant savings.
- Flexibility and convenience for the end users. A more flexible network keeps up with the needs of employees, making it easy to switch offices, join new workgroups, or access reservation-less conference lines.
"Out-tasking aspects of voice network management to a managed service provider frees up time for me to focus on other IT projects."
Chad Hamilton
Director of Information Systems and Technology, FremantleMedia North America
The Cbeyond Solution
L3 Networks, a Cisco Premier Certified Partner, deployed a solution utilizing Cisco technology and Cbeyond services:
- Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express, in conjunction with Cbeyond's managed service, gives FremantleMedia a single, reliable WAN connection for voice as well as data.
- Cbeyond BeyondVoice III with SIPconnect managed service is designed for growing businesses. The service includes three T1 lines, 36 phone lines, and 4.5 Mbps of broadband Internet access, which is dynamically allocated to voice and data as needed.
Results and Benefits
L3 Networks completed the system integration in just six weeks, giving FremantleMedia a network that keeps pace with a fast-moving, global environment.
- Instead of installing new hardware to add new features, FremantleMedia can now perform a simple software upgrade- without interrupting voice service.
- With its built-in conferencing capabilities, Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express offers conference bridges for up to 32 people and reservation-less conference calls for up to eight people.
- Cbeyond's service bundle, designed for small and growing businesses, provides low long-distance rates and a single bill.
